About
HalfTheGlass Blog

The HalfTheGlass website first saw light-of-day as my own personal blog site in January 2017. During that year I wrote a total of 25 blogs, followed by only 3 more in 2018, and one last blog in October 2019. The subjects of those blogs had a lot to do with morals, politics, the relationships between people and their environment, as well as relationships between people, human and civil rights, and specific events, deeds, or discussions related to those subjects. (PDF files of all the 29 blogs are available here or by way of the link on the blog landing page).

This new and renewed HalfTheGlass Blog section will, for the most part, be dedicated to the same subjects and topics. If you check out the original blog files, I think that you will discover that my ideas and ideals have not changed very much in the last 9 years. For that matter, the way in which the human race in general, and the groups of people that I am genetically, geographically, and/or ideologically connected to, relate to the world around them had its ups and downs during those years, but, all being told, hasn’t changed very much either. Of course, specific events, their intensity and repercussions, the physical state of the environment and of the world, and my own physical and mental states have changed.

Which brings me back to the here and now, and the text that you are reading. The rebirth of HalfTheGlass at this time and place (2026 and the State of Israel, where I have been living for the last 53 years) is not coincidental, but rather very much connected to the changing reality since 2017, and in no small degree, related also to my perception and understanding of that reality.

I have been, especially since the events of October 7, 2023 in Israel, on an unending personal, emotional, and social roller coaster. This renewed website is designed to try to allow me, and I would hope to also allow you and any others that may join us here, to sort out and perhaps better understand the whirlwind of reality around us.

Each of the three sections of HalfTheGlass have their own unique purposes.

The Sunrise Gallery exists to help us all see and enjoy the beauty that exists in the world … not as escapism but rather to enable us to explicitly recognize that beauty while, in parallel, dealing with reality.

The Impact Partner Directory exists to aid those looking for organizations or programs that are working to make the world a better place to find them.

And the HalfTheGlass Blog exists to present you and all with my understanding concerning the aforementioned subjects and topics as well as my take concerning local and world events related to those subjects and topics.

As opposed to the original website, in which there was very little interaction between me and my readers, this Blog includes and welcomes interaction, that will, upon mutual agreement and within the limitations of space (on the website) and time (my own), be made public for all to see, read and react to. With that, I do reserve for myself, upon my own discretion, the right to allow or deny publication of anything sent to me (the main intent being to avoid publication of offensive, violent, or racist/sexist remarks).

I hope that you will find the Blog interesting and relevant.
